Facebook has also announced that they will release it for iOS soon. Apple is yet to give its approval, when it is already promoting Arcade, its official Cloud-based gaming platform. You can now upload your own gameplay for streaming on the device with just a few taps using Go Live feature.

Facebook Gaming head, Fidji Simo said in a report of New York Times, “Gaming has now become a new domain for investment as gaming is the new medium of entertainment which actually connects audiences across the world. It is a form of entertainment which is not just passive, but interactive and keeps people closer.”

Initially, there are no ads on the app. Facebook depends on ‘stars’ rating system from viewers like Twitch relies on ‘bits’. The app was being tested by the company in Southeast Asia and Latin America over the last 18 months. Currently, this app supports some casual games, instead of mainstream and heavy ones like Asphalt 9, Call of Duty, PUBG etc.

The game streaming service by Facebook has recorded over 554 million hours of views in the first three months of this year 2020, in comparison to 1.1 billion on YouTube, and 3.1 billion on Amazon’s Twitch, as per the data released by Streamlabs, which is a live streaming software firm.

In terms of live video game streaming, YouTube and Twitch are still ahead of Facebook. The game stream platform has recorded around 554 million hours within first three months. According to the company, around 700 million users already use Facebook app for streaming gaming content. It is looking forward to have a great traction with Facebook Gaming, especially when everyone is at home due to government lockdowns and Coronavirus outbreak.
