iPhone 12 Series set to launch without Accessories in the box

iPhone 12 series

TrendForce, a market intelligence firm, has reported that Apple has planned to ditch accessories like power adapter and wired headphones out of the retail box of iPhone 12 Series. In addition, the upcoming iPhone 12 series will also be priced higher than their predecessors. The rumors about this step were surrounded in the past but they seem to be true as launch date is closer.

iPhone 12 Series – Reason behind this step

TrendForce has also reported the annual drop in production of smartphones by the end of Q2 2020. As compared to Q1 2020, the production of iPhone has seen a hike of 8% in this quarter. It may be due to the increased sales of iPhone 11 and iPhone SE which were beyond expectation. The mass production of iPhone 12 series is also going to happen. The Cupertino giant will also equip the upcoming iPhone models with 5G modem. Hence, the production cost is also going to be higher. So, Apple is going to cut costs by removing accessories like charger and headphones off the retail box.

iPhone 12 Series – Upcoming Models

The report also mentions that the upcoming series will include four models, wiz. iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Max, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

iPhone 12 Series – Pricing

The price of iPhone 12 will start from $699 (~Rs. 51,200) to $749 (~Rs. 54,800). The price of iPhone 12 Max could start from $799 (~Rs. 58,500) to $849 (~ Rs. 62,200). iPhone 12 Pro could be priced around $1049 (~ Rs. 76,800) to $1099 (~ Rs. 80,500). Finally, the cost of iPhone 12 Pro Max could be $1149 (~ Rs. 84,100) to $1199 (~ Rs. 87,800).

iPhone 12 Series – Rumored Specs

Some of the specs for iPhone 12 series have also been floating around. All of these devices might be powered by A14 bionic chipset and will have flexible AMOLED displays and Face ID.

However, there is a change in other specs. iPhone 12/12 Max may have 12MP dual rear cameras and 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 12MP sensor on front. On the other side, the iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max may have 12MP triple rear camera setups and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM.

The release date has not been confirmed yet. But it is expected to be somewhere around October.
